10:30-11:50 ENG [Joint Session with KSSO] The Present and Future Management of Obesity Seok Min Kang (Yonsei Univ., Korea) ,
Min-Seon Kim (Ulsan Univ., Endocrinology and Metabolism, Korea)
This session aims to build a comprehensive understanding of obesity and its broad clinical implications, with a particular focus on its pathophysiologic and therapeutic relevance to heart failure. Through a multidisciplinary approach, the session will explore up-to-date strategies for obesity treatment, including emerging concepts in the management of obese heart failure.
Obesity is a disease—and in patients with heart failure, it becomes an even more serious condition. This joint session with KSSO is structured to provide an integrated view of obesity from both endocrinology and cardiology perspectives. The alternating structure of endocrinology and cardiology topics is designed to encourage multidisciplinary insights and foster clinical collaboration.
10:30-10:45 Why Do We Treat Obesity? - The Current and Future Threat of Obesity Yang Im Hur (CHA Univ., Family Medicine, Korea)
10:45-11:00 Obesity and Heart Failure - Pathophysiologic Links and Effects of Anti-obesity Treatment Gianluigi Savarese (Karolinska Institutet, Sweden)
11:00-11:15 Current and Emerging Medications for Obesity Management - Step by Step Guidance Jang Won Son (The Catholic Univ., Endocrinology and Metabolism, Korea)
11:15-11:30 NuSH and Other Treatment Options in the Management of Obese Heart Failure Chan Joo Lee (Yonsei Univ., Korea)
